2012 Yarra Ranges Council Photographic Competition - Conditions of entry

Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.
Entry to the competition is free and open to residents of Yarra Ranges.
Employees of Yarra Ranges Council and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
Entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from their parents or guardians to enter the competition.
The competition starts at 9.00am, Monday 20 August 2012 and closes at 5.00pm on Friday, 12 October 2012.
Photographs entered must be taken after 31 August, 2011.
The subject matter must be within the Yarra Ranges Shire.
Up to three photographs may be entered per person. Photographs must be the original work of the entrant.
Each photograph must be accompanied by a completed entry form (see attached). Entries will not be accepted without a completed entry form.
If a photograph features a person/s, his/her written permission for the photograph to be entered in the competition and retained and used for promotional purpose by Yarra Ranges Council must be provided.

Written parental permission for the same must be provided if the photo features a person under the age of 18.

Photographs must be high resolution jpg files only with a minimum size of 16 x 24 cm and 300dpi resolution.

Hard copies, slides or negatives will not be accepted. Minimal adjustments to colour, contrast, saturation and sharpness may be made but no excessive manipulation or layered images will be accepted. No text or watermarks may be added to the photo. Any sub standard images will not be considered.

All photograph files will be retained by Yarra Ranges Council.
The winning entries will be chosen by a panel, whose decision will be final.
Winners will be announced and prizes awarded by Monday, 22 October 2012
Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
Entries will become the property of Yarra Ranges Council and may be featured in Council publications including the Shirewide magazine, on its website, in media campaigns or for other promotional purposes.

Council will include the entrants’ name to acknowledge photos where possible. Royalties or any other payment will not be made for any use of any photograph entered in the competition.

All entrants must provide a signed entry form with their photographs when entering the competition.

Entries will not be accepted without a completed entry form.
Council reserves the right to refuse an entry.
This trade promotion lottery is conducted by Yarra Ranges Council in accordance with s5.12 of the Victorian Gambling Regulation Act (2003) and relevant provisions under the Gambling Regulation Regulations (2005).
Winners will be notified by telephone, email and published on the website, www.yarraranges/photocompetition, in Council's Community Update column in the local newspapers in the week commencing 29/10/12 and in the Herald Sun on 29/10/12.
Prizes
The total retail value of the prize pool is to the value of AUD $1179.
The first eligible entrant drawn will be awarded first prize consisting of a new iPad (16GB, wifi+cellular) RRP $679. The prize will awarded in person at the Yarra Ranges Council offices in Lilydale or shipped directly to the winner at their address within 28 days.
The second prize winner will receive a gift voucher from the store of their choice (where available) to the value of $200.
The third prize winner will receive a gift voucher from the store of their choice (where available) to the value of $100.
The winner of the People’s Choice will receive a gift voucher from the store of their choice (where available) to the value of $100.
One voter in The People’s Choice category will be selected at random from voters on the website who provide their valid contact information. They will receive a hamper of local produce to the retail value of $100 which can be collected by arrangement from any of the Yarra Ranges Council Community Links during business hours within 28 days following the draw.
If any of the prize winners can not be readily identified or cannot be contacted within a reasonable time an additional entry will be selected to substitute for the winner of that prize.

Prizes are not exchangeable for cash.

Privacy
We value and protect your privacy. The personal information you choose to supply us in order to take part in this competition will not be sold or shared with anyone outside Yarra Ranges Council or their authorised agents (such as web support or technical consultants who also operate under strict confidentiality and privacy rules).
If you don’t provide us with contact information then you cannot participate in this competition (because we won’t be able to let you know if you have won).
Council staff may use your contact information at a later date to contact you regarding use of your entry. You can opt out of this future correspondence any time by clicking on the link in the relevant email or by calling 1300 368 333.
